I just love Jane Austen’s style and wit. I also simply love the period that the novels are set in, the Regency Era (1800-1830). The books give an accurate depiction of that era because that is the era in which Jane lived. What was contemporary for her became historical for us. I had the pleasure of seeing Downhere, a great Christian Rock band from Canada, a few years ago. They are so talented and most importantly have a great passion for the Lord. They are also a lot of fun and also very down to earth . . . well, that’s the premise of their name – downhere – because we are down here and He is up there and in here. They recognize that it is important to stay grounded in the Lord and that their music is for Him.

With two great lead vocals and a team of talented instrumentalists this band has it all. Jason writes some very thoughtful lyrics that have truly meant a lot to me at certain times in my life, especially “Calmer of the Storm“. A few new favorites are “Great Are You“, “A Better Way” and “Little is Much”. He is the pianist and many of his songs take on a ballad flavor. Marc, the other lead, with his great range of vocals reminds me of the melodic sound of Queen. The blend of Marc and Jason’s voices together make for a unique sound. Marc is also a talented guitarist as is Jason and along with the power of Glenn’s base and Jeremy’s drums they have it all!
